Fertilizer Technician

The fertilizer technician we are looking to hire will be joining a team of motivated individuals who strive to achieve the company’s mission and turn customer’s dreams into outdoor realities through design, installation, and maintenance.
Fertilizer Technician (Full Time)
Hours: 40+ hours/week on average. The hours do vary by season and during peak season can result in overtime. Snow removal opportunities are available during the Winter season.
Salary: up to $20.00/hour depending on licensing and experience.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with customers, both residential and commercial, to discuss, educate, and problem solve a variety of turf and soil conditions with the goal of reaching a healthy and sustainable lawn.
Apply fertilizer and appropriate turf management solutions to both residential and commercial lawns using a motorized ride on fertilizer spreader.
Assist in maintaining healthy lawns of new and existing customers using granular and liquid fertilizer and spot treatment chemicals.
Identify, assess, and repair turf and plant damages caused by disease, infestation, and/or environmental conditions.
Qualities and Qualifications
Dependability - Our fertilizer technicians must be reliable. The schedule for fertilizer applications is crucial to achieving our desired results and consistency is key.
Detail Oriented - The mixing and utilization of the proper chemicals is a must to be successful in this role. Mixing and utilizing the proper chemicals and products will reduce costs and unnecessary accidents.
Team Player
The ideal candidate will:
Have and Maintain the necessary Fertilizer / Pesticide Applicator licensing as required by State of Michigan;
Be able to work a full day in a physically demanding environment and in varied weather conditions;
Have and maintain a valid driver’s license; and
Be team oriented with a customer service focus.
